A full Bento head for just L$150? (Part 2) – Guys, it’s your turn now!

A full Bento head for just L$150? (Part 2) – Guys, it’s your turn now!

Hi peeps!

Well boys, it’s time to get those skates on and leg it to the Akeruka store, because your free anniversary Bento mesh head gift has just been released, and it’s absolutely gorgeous!

This offer will only be open until 1st July 2018, so hurry up and grab it!

The Akeruka group costs L$150 to join (link here) and you need to be in the group and with your group tag active in order to get the head. Go to the Akeruka store (be warned: it’s going to be busy and laggy!) and cam inside the male heads section of the store. Just inside the entry you’ll see three big images on the wall. You want the one in the middle. It looks like this:

Right-click either the main image or one of the two small boxes beneath it, and pay it L$1. You will be refunded that money immediately and then you’ll be sent your free Bento mesh head! (The two small boxes are additional servers, which the store has put out so the main server doesn’t get overwhelmed. Only pay the server ONCE and then wait.)

This is a fantastic gift from Akeruka. The guys in SL get short shrift when it comes to finding cheap and free items, and Bento heads are no exception. The average Bento head costs around L$5000, so you’re getting an awesome bargain here.

And you don’t get just the head! Inside the folder you’ll find a plethora of things, from all the various customisation and animation HUDs (screenshots of those will be further down this post) to a fantastic pack of ALL the matching body appliers in Omega format, for Signature, Slink, and Belleza bodies – in both shaved and hairy versions. (And, since they’re Omega, they might work on other Omega-compatible bodies. I think the only reason they’re called ‘Omega – Signature’ etc is because the mapping of the bodies is slightly different, and so things like nipples and muscles may not be 100% in the right place on other bodies. Give them a try on your mesh body, though, and see which one – if any – works!)

The HUDs come with lots of extra options, including brows and hairbases, facial hair, and eyes (both human and catlike/animal). You even get guyliner and lipstick (so you can get your goth on!) and facial scars and tattoos. Some screenshots of the HUDs are below:

Mar’s male look for this post comes courtesy of Caligula and Polo Paul. While the Caligula items are a bit out of the usual L$75 remit for most clothing etc on this blog, they’re well worth it when you see the sheer amount of options available!

The jacket costs L$99 and comes in fits for Adam, Signature, Aesthetic, Slink, plus two fitmesh options and standard sizing (which can be worn with non-mesh bodies). Inside each pack – once you’ve opened the one you want, you’ll find the jacket with turtleneck comes in 12 colour options! The boots are also L$99 and come in fits for Adam, Signature, Aesthetic, Slink, TMP, and standard avatars. (They’re also all re-sizeable with a single click.) Once you’ve opened your shoes size of choice you’ll find 12 colours, each with two versions (one with tiny studs around the sole seam, and one without). And finally, the jeans are from an outfit by Polo Paul, at L$55, and the hair is a freebie fatpack at the Exile store.

The head also takes other Omega appliers (if you have the Akeruka Omega relay, which is available in the store for L$99). Here it is with the latest male group gift ‘Ake’ head and body Omega applier from 7 Deadly Skins (the group is L$225 to join)

Hi peeps!

Some fantastic news for those of you who have just picked up a new mesh head and/or body and want to get some great skins for it. 7 Deadly Skins is approaching its 5th anniversary, and designer Izara Zuta has a ton of treats in store!

First up, the group join fee has been reduced to just 50L$ for almost a whole year! So grab your alts and saddle up to join the 7 Deadly Skins group, because gifts are generous, events are plentiful, and this is a group well worth joining! Even if you’ve not yet hopped onto the mesh head-n-body bandwagon, there will be system skins and shapes as well, so this is one you want to be in!

Before we get into the makeup, this is the first week’s offer for the ladies: the Becky skin. This comes in four skintones (apricot, caramel – which Mar is wearing here – oak, and walnut) and includes Omega appliers for both head and body. It also includes versions both with and without brows, in case you want to apply your own preferred brows. If you want to use this on your mesh head and body, they need to be either Omega-compatible out of the box, or you’ll need to pick up the relevant Omega relays for them. (For example: if you have a Catwa head and a Slink body, like Mar does, you’ll need the Omega relays for Catwa and Slink.)

In this gift you also get a modifiable shape (not shown here), and a brow-shaper. Here’s a shot of the bare-faced skin, before Mar slaps on the lippy!

Guys, you’re not left out either! Here’s the first week’s gift for you. The Dio skin includes Omega face appliers in caramel, clay, steam, and taupe with options for facial hair (the normal versions have a light five o’clock shadow, and the B1 versions have facial hair as shown in the smaller inset pic below), plus Omega body appliers with (V2) and without (V1) body hair. There’s also a Signature body applier for the taupe version.

Now onto the other goodies! Legendaire have a new group gift out: this gorgeous Cora texture-change maxi dress! It comes with fits for Slink (Physique only), Belleza, and Maitreya, plus Standard Sizing. It also includes a pair of heels (not worn here).

The Legendaire group is just 49L to join, and soooo worth it. There’s a ton of group gifts available, some of which I’ve blogged before. This dress, though, is gorgeous: sexy enough for a night out and bright enough to wear to a tropical party night at a hot beach location in-world! There are four possible textures to use, including a stunning yellow one that I almost used for these piccies.

The scarf, hair, and jewellery are part of a 29L (yes, I goofed again on the pic text above; what is it with me and fumbly-fingers lately?!) offer just outside the door at Legendaire: the Donatella set. This comprises hair with a 10-colour HUD (all the natural shades you could want, from blonde through to black), a texture-change scarf with 10 pattern and 10 solid colour options and multiple colours for the gems etc, the earrings and bangles (I did size down the earrings by about 40% – they rez absolutely huge and Mar doesn’t wear enormous hoop earrings). There are also two clutch bags with different holds and a 10-colour-change HUD.

The eyeshadow is this gorgeous Bali free tester from Alaskametro on the Marketplace. (That link takes you to the Catwa applier, but this link will take you to the search for Bali which also includes options for a Lelutka applier and a system tattoo layer.) Alaska has lots of free wearable testers available there, so check them out!

Lastly, here’s a screenshot of the notecard from 7 Deadly Skins, which details all of the offers. Remember to check every week for the new gift skins!

Happy anniversary, Izara, and thank you for all the gifts!

Other items

Body: Slink Physique
Head: Catwa Catya
Nails: OEC Slink Clawz (not available anymore, sorry!)
Eyes: Avi-Glam (Christmas gift, probably also not available anymore)

ETA: I couldn’t resist it! I had to show the yellow dress, too!

Ad-HoC: a treasure trove of freebies from House of Curios!

Ad-HoC: a treasure trove of freebies from House of Curios!

Hi, peeps!

Those of you who have been following SL4Nowt for a long time will remember that I often blogged about footwear from HoC (aka: House of Curios, aka: HoC Industries). Creator Guu Nishi hopped on the prim footed-shoe bandwagon early on, and made some fantastic heels for incredibly affordable prices. She also made great shoes for the guys, too. But she eventually shut up shop and moved on.

So, imagine my delight when, on a drive-by trip a couple of days ago to the Stillman Bazaar (a Linden-owned freebie bazaar where anyone can place free – and mostly full-permission – items for other residents to take, I discovered a box with this hovertext on it:

I grabbed it and took it back home to unpack. Another box was inside this box, but when I unpacked that box, I was seal-clapping like crazy, because it contains just about every single thing that Guu Nishi put out for sale at HoC. And it’s all free and full-permission!

Included is a notecard from Guu herself, which reads as follows:

This pack contains every (everything I can cleanly package up) release from HOC Industries over the past 9 years. I always said that when I closed up shop I’d make everything available for free with full permissions and well, here we are!

Let’s get down to the nitty gritty rules and stuff:

You can give, sell, modify, or do anything you like with the stuff in this box. Enjoy it!

Basically, don’t use any of this stuff for evil and we’re cool.

That’s pretty much everything! There will be no support given for anything in this box, it’s all full mod so you can sort it out if you need to :) Everything should work as expected though.

Have fun! If you feel this has been useful for you, a couple of lindens in my hat would be a lovely gesture! Not a requirement though so only if you want to.

Until we meet again,

Guu Nishi

HOC Industries (2007 – 2016)

This is such a generous act. Thank you so much, Guu! It’s going to enable me to put together an updated newbie avatar box, and I’m going to pack up some of the clothing items (especially the ones for the guys!) to put out as freebies in the Del Mar Store. I’m so happy to finally have some great, always-there free footwear to point newbie guys towards!

Inside the box, you’ll find tons of items, from female clothing and footwear to male clothing and footwear, plus some furniture, accessories (such as watches, glasses, and sunglasses for both genders), and a couple of buildings. Some of it is older clothing layer items, some of the footwear makes use of the old ‘invisiprims’ (so it may or may not work, depending on the viewer you’re using, but since it’s all full-permission, you can edit it to remove the invisiprims and use some of the freely-available alpha layers on Marketplace instead; see the end of this post for some links for those), some of the clothing and footwear contains sculpts, and then there’s some mesh clothing (in standard sizing) and even a pair of gorgeous colour-change heels that fit Slink High and Maitreya feet!

All-in-all it’s a fabulous haul of goodies! I’m going to stop blethering on about it now, and show you some of the items. But first, you’re probably going to want to know where to find this thing, right?

Here’s the SLurl for Stillman Bazaar. As per the screenshot below, you’ll land high up, and you need to head towards the red beam. You’ll find the plain dark grey box on the floor at the back, just behind a little white particle cloud:

As for the rest of this post, hop behind the cut :)

More gorgeous group gifts from Gabriel!

Further to my post of a few days ago, there are two new group gifts on the wall at Gabriel: some fab mesh footwear for ladies and gents:

If you’re not in the Gabriel group, paste this link into chat and click it to bring up the group-join window (it’s free-to-join) then head to the Gabriel store with your group tag active, walk north, and get clicking on that enormous gifty wall!

And Gabriel appeared and said unto the avatar, “Lo! I bear freebies!”

*giggles*

Gabriel has some fabby gifts available for its group members. The group’s free-to-join (you know the drill by now: paste this link into chat, click it to bring up the group window, etc). With your group tag active, head to the Gabriel store and walk North. Just behind the big ad for the store’s new clothing collection, you’ll see this whopping wall of great freebies:

Look closely, gents. There are seven great pairs of high-quality free shoes and boots there for you. I’m always bemoaning the dearth of high-quality freebie male footwear in SL, but Gabriel’s got you (well, your feet, anyway) covered!

Hop behind the cut for close-ups of all the gifts :)

New freebies for the CoCo Designs group!

New freebies for the CoCo Designs group!

A while back, I blogged about some of the great free gifts offered by CoCo Designs to their free-to-join group. Well, there are two new gifts out now, and one of them’s some great unisex mesh boots (so boys, pay attention!)

Paste this link into chat and click it to bring up the group-join window. Then, with your group tag active, head to the CoCo Designs store and turn West (according to your viewer’s mini-map). All the gifts are on that West wall, with these two new ones on the far right. Here they are:

Ladies, you’ll need to wear the rigged mesh boots. Gents, make sure you wear the non-rigged versions, as those are the only ones that can be resized to fit your bigger feet :)

Mum? Dad? Original Ruth and Roth avatars!

Mum? Dad? Original Ruth and Roth avatars!

Hi peeps!

I’ve been digging around some old default library content that I found, and I’ve put together two freebie boxes containing the Mother and Father of us all – Ruth and Roth – and stuck them on the freebie wall at the Del Mar Store.

While there is a Ruth avatar in your Library folder, she’s not the original Ruth (in fact, the only resemblance she bears to Ruth is that her shirt is purple).

Both Ruth and Roth are Second Life icons. Roth is the original n00b; you’ll have seen models of him all over the place. And Ruth… well, she was iconic before Lady Gaga was a twinkle in her record company’s eye ;)

Great fun for parties, especially if you remember to remove your AO (they didn’t exist back then!) so you’re in default newbie pose.

Pics!

Oh! Oh! CoCo! Tons of group gifties from CoCo Design :)

Oh! Oh! CoCo! Tons of group gifties from CoCo Design :)

There are a TON of gorgeous group gifts on the wall at CoCo Design. Mar picked up some of them and put together a few cute looks, together with some in-world and Marketplace offers.

Join the CoCo Design group [ group link – free to join ] and head to the store [ in-world store ]. The group gifts are on the West wall. Make sure you’re wearing your group tag, and get clicking!

The first look (*points up*) comprises the cute little Gift Tee & Denim Shorts set (the tee also comes in a green colour; hop behind the cut for a pic of that), plus the awesome mesh Suede Boots. Mar’s hair is a limited-time freebie from A&A on Marketplace: the Ludvika Hair in ‘dark brown’ [ link ] which is available free until March 5th 2013.

BOYS! The mesh boots come in rigged (can’t be resized) and UN-rigged (can be resized) versions, and there are fur-topped and non-fur versions, too. So, if you like to roleplay any historical avatars (or Gorean, or anything like that) then these boots will work just as well for a male avatar as they will a female one!

Hop behind the cut for more looks!
