I have some lovely things to show you today, and if you don’t feel all glammed-up after grabbing this stuff then there’s no hope for you!

First up, there’s PurpleMoon Creations’ 14,000 members group gift. There’s a L$50 fee to join the group (paste this link into chat and click it) but it’s totally worth it. Go to the PurpleMoon Creations store with your group tag active and head inside. Halfway down on your right, just past the customer service desk, you’ll see the group gift display. Click it for this stunning pale blue gown, complete with armlets and roses for your hair. Also check group notices, as there’s a great set of polished wood jewellery in there right now!

Closing-down sales: Exodi, Kalnins, and MerikenCo

I always feel sad when I blog about closing down sales, because any creator going out of business is a Not Good Thing. But when three large businesses announce closure, practically within a week of each other? That’s not just bad news for customers of those stores; it’s bad news for SL itself.

Ladies, today is your LAST CHANCE to buy from Exodi. The store closes tonight (Saturday March 31st). There’s still a group gift on top of the fireplace, to your left as you walk in, so activate your group tag and get that. It’ll be the last gift you get from Ryker Beck, as Exodi.

Oh, and while you’re at it, PLEASE don’t do what these thoughtless women did:

Those women couldn’t have given an uglier, ruder ‘goodbye’ to Ryker Beck if they’d tried. Unpacking the FREE gift she gave and leaving all their crap to litter her store? Selfish. Just utterly selfish. And you know what? I haven’t named and shamed on this blog in a long time, but I’m going to do it right now; I am so disgusted at this selfish attitude. Ryker has been one of SL’s most generous creators, with regular group gifts of full skin fatpacks, setting out three gorgeous free newbie avatars for women, and I couldn’t believe what I saw when I walked into the store. In all honesty I thought Ryker had set out all of her previous group gifts, as one final huzzah to her group members, until I realised the boxes all had different ‘owner’ names.

So, congratulations to sinala.hoover, priscila.viper, rosa121, naillah, gogogirl.popstar, sharon.tate, kit.littlething, sem.muhindra, nese.thespian, barbiepinkstyle, jasmin.donaldo, nushua.allardyce, ellendixie, evva.camel, and ashira.torok for getting their names mentioned. Perhaps in future you might think a little about what kind of message you’re giving to the creators who, y’know, don’t have to give out free gifts, but do anyway.

Come down off the ceiling. I’m not that scary! :p

Guess what, peeps? Frick is back! Yay! Fricka Morgath has set up shop again, and a gorgeous little Halloweeny shop it is, too, sitting in a lovely autumnal skybox surround. She currently has seven witches’ hats in the store, set out for L$1 each. Between them they contain five skins and two dresses, so hustle your orange-and-black butts over there and get hunting. It’s not difficult, and you should find them pretty easily. Also, hover your cursor over the ads in the store, because many of the skins are set for sale at cheaper prices than the ads show!

Now, Mar’s not gonna bombard you with Halloween stuff, so unless something else spookily great turns up, this is your Halloween outfit post for this year. She had a lot of fun in the sim that she visited to take these pics. It’s a great place to take your friends; full of spooky surprises!

Ladies, the new group gift from Kunglers is a lovely one. Paste this link into chat and click on it to bring up the group join window. Kunglers’ group costs L$50 to join, but you get a great free outfit every month. I know I always look forward to seeing what it is!

This month there is a pretty dress and ring set in group notices. The dress has a sculpted skirt and comes with a prim belt as well. The ring is a gorgeous red flower. Mar’s teamed the whole outfit with the L$30 Chunky Stilettos 2 from HoC Industries (colour-change, so they’ll match just about anything!), the free Ellie hair (shown here: the chocolate shade from the fatpack that you get) from Tameless Hair @ Savoir Hair, and the pretty Silver Heart Pendant, free from Virtual Impressions at the Vanity Hair mall.

Mar’s skin is the current group gift at Al Vulo. Paste this link into chat and click it to bring up the group join window (it’s free to join) then teleport over to the Al Vulo store. The nilpez – orange kauai skin is in the little wooden shack that you’ll land in front of. Simply click the image at the back while you have your group tag enabled.

Also included in the look are the Sexy Girl Red prim nails from Love Soul.

Script Count
All together, this outfit has a script count of 60 scripts, which can be reduced to 49 if you remove the scripts in the hair and belt (once you’ve re-sized them to fit you). If you don’t wear the ring then the script count goes down to just 21, so it’s a lovely low-script look. Read more here about script counts and why they’re important.

Yes, I’m back. There’s a longer post over at my Ponderings blog, if you want to read more.

So… back to it! Where to begin? OK, how about with the current TDR Blue collection, because it’s still summer (at least here in the northern hemisphere) and as soon as Mar spotted this gorgeous skirt from Tee*fy she had to have it! Also from the TDR Blue collection this month is the LeoLuxe belt from Mimikri (and I love the resizing options on this; they let you resize in different directions instead of just making the whole belt bigger, so if you’ve got a plush bottom you can accommodate that without having the belt be six inches too wide sideways!)

The top is from the current Summer Hunt at R.icielli (more on that in the post to follow), the skin is a group gift from Exodi (hop behind the cut for info on that!) and the flipflops are lovely little cheapies from Magi Take.

Frick’s final hurrah

*sigh* Another wonderful store in SL is closing down. Fricka Morgath’s Frick skins and clothing store will soon close (probably around April 1st, or so the notice says). Until then all of her stock is set to 50% off, and if you don’t head over there you’ll be missing the chance to bag some amazing skins at great prices.

Frick specialises in goth, fae, and fantasy-themed skins (although there are many other types at the store, alongside clothing and some lovely skyboxes on the top floor), so if that’s your thing then head on over before April 1st!

There’s a new group gift in Belleza’s group notices. The gorgeous Melissa skin is waiting for you, in seven skintones, with hair/bald/cleavage/non-cleavage versions of each skintone. Join the Belleza group for L$250 (make sure it’s the one founded by Tricky Boucher, as there is more than one group with that name) and check group notices. Four of the skintones are shown below.

The screenshots Mar took reminded me of court cards, hence today’s little bit of Photoshop fun :)

It doesn’t matter whether you’re all for the hearts-n-flowers stuff or whether you’re feeling sort of ‘bah’ grumpypants over it (heck, we’ve all probably been both at some point). The fact is that the red and pink stuff is inescapable in Second Life, as it is every year. Luckily, Mar’s got some cute finds for you, no matter whether you’re googly-eyed or grumpypants this year ;)
